KAREN HEFFRON - Violin
Karen has been studying violin since her school age years. She was able to receive a music scholarship towards her college studies after studying privately with a member of the Atlanta Symphony and playing with many advanced orchestras in high school. Though she pursued a degree and career in physical therapy, her love of music remained. As an adult, she often placed Irish fiddle music in festivals as well as playing a variety of music both as a soloist and with string quartets in weddings, church ensembles and the like.
Recently, she has expanded her musical studies to improvisation and composing, recently collaborating with Homestyle Music owner Katie Hester on their latest album Walk Path, a combination of deliberate composing and improv for a restful yet engaging musical experience. She also decided to start sharing her love of music with beginning violin students. She has children of her own as well as 8 years experience with the children’s Sunday School class. Her most recent violin students have enjoyed her calm, upbeat, yet knowledgeable demeanor that loves to get in there and help them be their best. Karen is a joy to be around and is sure to inspire her students and equip them with the necessary skills to play like she does one step at a time! She teaches violin lessons in Kennesaw, Acworth, Marietta, and the West Cobb area.
